Growing Community Gardens (GCG)

With the help of a Sustaining Congregational Excellence grant from the CRCNA, we began construction of the GCG in spring of 2010. This is a way of using our church property to be a blessing to the community around us. We currently have 34 plots which are rented by a variety of people. The GCG allows us to have common ground on which to meet our neighbours, for them to meet us, to give people the opportunity to grow food, to learn about gardening and composting, and to practice humanity’s calling in Genesis 2:15 where God placed Adam in the garden “to work it and take care of it.” Send an email to or talk to someone in the church about signing up for a plot for the season, and participating in communal work days, learning events, and organizational meetings.
